Creemore Festival of the Arts - September 22 and 23

Welcome to my Website.

My name is Jane Wynne.   I was born in England and lived for some time in East Africa before coming to Canada.   I studied art in my youth and now that I have retired from my career as Tournament Director for Canada's premier tennis championships - the Rogers Cup - I have made my home in Collingwood.

It has been very fulfilling to be able to pursue my love of painting.  Watercolour and Acrylics are my chosen mediums  and I am indulging in a wide variety of subjects, inspired both by my extensive travels around the world and beautiful Ontario landscapes in the Georgian Bay area.

My art is representational but with a loose flowing style.  I love the challenge of producing bright, translucent colours and exploring the effects of light on my subjects.  I enjoy nature in every way - from painting elephants in Africa, to our lovely Georgian Bay scenery.  Architectural subjects fascinate me - from local homes and buildings of interest, as well as wonderful Tuscan streets and ancient European villages.  I am also an avid photographer and paint both from my own photographs and on location.

I am the President of the Blue Mountain School of Landscape Painting and a member of the Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts, Georgian Bay Association for Creative Arts and the Marsh Street Painters Group.   I participate regularly in shows in the Georgian Bay Area and have been selected to exhibit in the BMFA Juried Art Show in each of the past seven years.  My studio is open on request and is a very popular destination on the Blue Mountain Studio Tour at the beginning of June each year.

I love to share my joy of painting by teaching, both privately and to small groups.   Check out the link to The Bay School of Art, for a beginner/intermediate course in watercolour painting, which I will be leading this Spring.  This is being held at The Tremont, 80 Simcoe Street in Collingwood.  I also give private and group coaching lessons in watercolour.

I hope you will enjoy viewing my work.   My paintings are for sale, both framed and  unframed and I would be happy to be contacted for further information.
